Vote Patrina

Strong leadership, to me, is about being proactive, creative, and focused on enhancing both the member experience and commercial opportunities. Since February, I’ve served on the ATC subcommittee for community engagement and events, consistently proposing practical ideas such as:
Marketing & Revenue: Positioning Alexandra Park as a TV/film location (with contacts provided) to generate passive income at no cost.
Event Engagement: Revitalising Melbourne Cup Day with a photo booth, mobile bar, and dress up incentives to boost its appeal.
Membership Growth: Created a campaign to attract and re-engage members, securing sponsorships via contacts with Rocketspeed Pizza and Three French Vine, NZ importer of boutique champagne houses (Achille Princier, Jean Josselin, Cristian Senez, Marion-Bosser). Continue to actively advocate for increased member benefits. I also oppose any move to displace members from the Lyell Creek Lounge. (Further details are in my candidate statement).
Community Fundraisers: Rebuilding ties with local groups by inviting them to host fundraisers at the club.
ATC Syndicate Relaunch: Restarting the syndicate to increase participation and ownership opportunities.
Proposed: Using promoters to boost major race day attendance and turnover through fresh, engaging events (originally suggested at the AGM two years ago); have established contacts ready to activate if elected.
Suggested: Engaging with attendees who use the Club carpark while visiting the adjacent Showgrounds events, creating opportunities to introduce them to our facilities and foster a stronger community connection.
Advocated: For increased use of the Club by welcoming regular meetup groups, showcasing facilities to new audiences.
Maximising the Club Database: Making full use of the club’s existing database to enhance communication and engagement with members. This could include sending more targeted emails and personalised updates, ensuring members are better informed about upcoming events, opportunities, and club news creating a more transparent and connected community while also unlocking new commercial opportunities.
Many of these initiatives involve little to no cost but have the potential to create a meaningful, positive impact. To my knowledge, two initiatives have been introduced so far, and I believe they all demonstrate the thoughtful and proactive approach I hope to contribute to the Board in support of our community.
I’m part of a monthly crypto meet up group that recently chose Alexandra Park as its new venue. I advocated it was the right move, highlighting key advantages like free parking, plenty of space, and a venue that’s central. These are major assets that ATC should be promoting far more they’re genuine draw cards for modern, social, and growth minded communities. The group has 1,760 members, with 50 – 100 people attending each event proving that Alexandra Park can absolutely attract large, engaged, and financially minded audiences
I recently attended a large meetup at Novotel with nearly 100 ladies, where no onsite parking was available, so we parked at Ellerslie and paid for parking an event that could easily be held at Alex Park. I also go to community driven cooking classes and a Ladies Who Lunch (pictured with organiser in pink at most recent meetup) group, both of which could be hosted at ATC’s Lyell Creek Lounge or Alex Park. I’m encouraging my sharemarket meetup group to move their events to ATC, and if elected, I’ll push even harder to attract groups like these. It costs the club nothing but brings exposure and stronger community engagement, positioning ATC as the go to venue for modern meetups and sparking fresh interest in the sport.
This is just from my personal experience there are many other groups and events out there. Alex Park and ATC have enormous untapped potential as community hubs. It’s simply a matter of reaching out and making the effort to bring these opportunities in. It costs the club nothing but offers significant exposure and boosts community engagement, helping position ATC as the premier venue for modern meetups and sparking fresh interest in the sport.

I’m proud to come from a family with strong ties to the club across multiple generations. This enduring connection has truly grounded me in the community and fuels my commitment to its future.
My uncle told me how he stood up and spoke out against the 2014 Special Meeting’s proposed Alexandra Park development one of very few to do so. His words at the time were recorded in a news media article, which proved his concerns well founded. That moment reminded me of the importance of speaking up, even if you’re in the minority. Now is that time for me. (Pictured with my Uncle).

A Deep Connect to the Club

This is the short animated video I referenced in my candidate statement, a piece I gifted to the Club several months ago to support marketing for the 2025 Golden Gait. Multiple edited versions were delivered as a promotional concept for social media, designed to elevate the event’s profile and energy. While it hasn’t been used yet, I remain hopeful it will find its place.
Alongside my campaign video, both pieces highlight the kind of creative, strategic thinking I’m ready to bring to the Board fresh ideas with practical applications to help the Club connect, grow, and thrive.
Some optional captions to accompany the video on socials could be:
Raceday just got golden. ✨Not your parents' raceday vibes. Golden Gait is made for the crew. 🕺🍸

If elected, I’d look to launch an owners’ syndicate, as mentioned in my candidate statement.
This mock up offers a starting point a concept with room to grow. What the sport needs
